Smith Carter is a leading full service design firm focusing on pre-design, urban design and landscape architecture, architecture and construction, engineering, interior architecture and design, preservation architecture, supplementary services and BSL 4 bio-containment design.
Smith Carter Architects and Engineers Incorporated is one of Canada’s largest integrated architectural and engineering practices and they have, over many years, come to Velocity for our full brand service. We have had a long relationship with Smith Carter and have designed everything from logos, cards, invitations, calendars, proposals, posters and CD ROMs. Each project requires us to consider the broad demographic for whom we are designing: architects, educators, students, government officials and business owners of all ages.
Our aim is to design contemporary, but appropriate materials that represent exactly who Smith Carter is – an international, widely diversified business that is constantly evolving. Smith Carter have had a long standing brand since 1947 and our main goal has been to expand and develop that brand.
We have created a range of material for Smith Carter such as their U.S Corporate Logo to give them a separate presence from that of Canada. This logo had to be seen as part of the Smith Carter brand but stand-alone for the specific market more focused to the operation and containment to biomedical facilities. Highlighted with a flash of red, the logo was tweaked to represent their new direction.
Other material produced includes, corporate stationery, postcard, folder, trade booth design, product brochure, proposal document, event collateral and Advertising.
Perhaps one of the most striking pieces of material that has been created has been the calendar. Encased with a slender card sleeve, each month has been printed on a separate leaf so as you pull out the old month the new month, complete with images and dates is revealed.
